I left the Met museum and came to 23rd street by subway... then changed to a bus to go to Chelsea area across Broadway.
I was gonna go to the Cloisters, but I changed my plan because it was already 3pm and I should have had more time to enjoy the Cloisters very much. The Cloisters is the branch museum located in the north end of Manhattan, where I have been to 12 years ago and I remember it was a nice gothic place surrounded by a beautiful park.
メトロポリタン美術館を後にし、地下鉄で23ストリートまで南下♪ここでバスに乗り換え、ブロードウェイを横切った向こう側の「チェルシー」というエリアに行きます♪
もともと「クロイスターズ」というメトロポリタン美術館の分館に行こうと思っていたけど、時間がすでに３時。マンハッタンの北の端にある美術館でゆっくり満喫するにはちょっとこの日の時間が足りず... そのきれいな公園に囲まれたゴシックスタイルの美術館は、12年前に行ってステキだった記憶があり、もう一回行きたいと思うのでまた後日出直します。
I wanted to see Chelsea beacause they say Chelsea is a pretty area with many local artists, an artistic atmosphere and many modern art galleries.
チェルシーにはアーティストも多く、モダンアートのギャラリーも多くある、と聞いたので、街ぶらの散歩も兼ねて見に行きました。
Around 10th Ave. - 11th Ave.
This is the west end of Manhattan. I've never been here before.
It seems OK along the main street in the daytime, but... I don't think I'll walk around this area during night time alone, especially on back streets...
But I saw many interesting galleries along back streets, around 24-25th street. I'll find more details about them including some other gallaries in other areas :-)
10～11番街の間。もうここはマンハッタンの西の端。こんなところまで来たことない。
昼のバス通りは大丈夫。一本裏通りを夜に...は一人では来れない気がする...
でもそんなところにギャラリーはたくさんありました。24-25th street あたり。
場所のかんじは分かったので、他のエリアのギャラリーと併せてリサーチしてみます♪

This is the west end. A hotel seems much more economy than midtown.

ここは西の端。街中に比べてホテルもエコノミーな佇まい。

This is another famous spot "High Line" which is a park built on a discontinued railroad line in the west side of Manhattan.
この高架は観光スポット。廃線になった鉄道の高架に緑を育て、公園にしています。高架の上には観光客、、、でも私は登っておりません(笑)くぐるだけ。

今回はチェルシーエリアの北のあたりをウロウロしたので、次の機会には南に行ってみます。その時登ってみよ♪

このカエル(？)のような保険会社の広告、こっちに来てTVなどで本当によく見かける！
I decided to walk back to the subway station instead of taking a bus. It was hot but nice to walk in the sunshine♪
さっきバスで来た道を帰りは歩くことにしました。暑いけど日差しと景色が心地よい♪

Here is Chelsea Hotel.
The hotel was surrounded by scaffoldings because of construction... Janis, Jimi, Bob... so many musicians stayed here and it's also famous because this is where Sid and Nancy were found. It's kinda sad to know this famous hotel has closed. I just wonder what this historical and legendaly building will be like in the future... 
有名なチェルシーホテルです。
ジャニスやジミヘンやボブディランが泊まり、シドとナンシーが最期を過ごしたホテル。
クローズしてしまったそうです。工事の足場で囲まれています。この古いという意味でも、色々な事があったという意味でも歴史のある建物、この後どうなるのかなぁ....

ブロードウェイと23ストリートの角まで戻って来ました。明るいけどもう夕方６時すぎ。
The flatiron building is ... literally so flat! if you look up at it from this angle. lol
ブロードウェイと5番街に挟まれた角にあるこの「フラットアイアンビル」
この角度から見ると文字通り超フラット！
This is around Madison Square Park. I kept walking and taking pics along 23th street. It was fun :-)
Only a few minutes later, I took a subway to midtown and caught a bus to go home from Port Authority Bus Terminal.
ここはマディソンスクエアガーデン付近。23ストリート沿いに写真を撮りながら歩きました。色々なものが見られて楽しかった♪この後地下鉄に乗り、ポートオーソリティよりバスに乗り換え、家路につきました。
I got back to my town. There's no skyscraper here! lol
地元。このAVONのビルが唯一近代的なくらいで、この町には高層ビルなんて物はありません。
