UPSTATEでギター弾いて楽しい時間

この一週間、夏休みに入ってはじめの一週間、、、　毎日「廃人」のように(笑)好きなことしかやっていないダメ人間ぶり♪春セメスターの成績もめでたく「いいのよたまには～♪」と言い訳しながら完全「OFF」の日々でした。

NYの街もいいけれど、、、ここUPSTATE（いわゆる"僻地"）もなかなかのもの。
金曜の夜にホームパーティしよう♪と、音楽好きのお宅におじゃまして、朝方まで飲んで弾いて歌って、のジャムセッションができるのも、森に囲まれた場所にある大きなおうちだからこそ。ドラムもギターもベースもアンプも...フル装備がある家で、一杯やりながら好きなだけ音楽～♪なんて、ご近所さんまで距離がある田舎ならでは！
やっぱり楽器をさわっている時は楽しい！日本に置いてきたマイギターが恋しい!!そしてバンドでいっしょに音を合わせている時はもっと楽しい！ほんと、音楽好きに国境は無い、と下手クソでもなんでも(笑)音楽やってて良かったな♪って、こういう時に思う☆
これから夏休みで時間ができるし、こういう好きな事をアメリカでももっともっとチャレンジしていこ！と思っています。

日本を離れ、ずっと暮らしたかったアメリカで生活するうちに、「原点回帰（？）」とも言えるくらい"多感な10代後半頃に夢中になったもの"例えばこういうギターを弾くことや絵を描くこと、自由な感性やアイデンティティを模索することなどなど、、、を再び楽しむようになりました♪
ロマンは尽きん！
学校はまだまだ続くしその後は未定だけど(笑)こうやって留学に来られて楽しく暮らせているので、ワタシの留学生活も半分以上は成功したようなもん！と思っています♪

昨年の今頃は完全自己手配の留学準備と仕事の事で「あれも、これも...」といっぱいいっぱいだったなぁ。。。ほんと、なんとかなる＆なんとかするものだわ、ヒトって♪
恵まれた仕事のおかげでだいぶ贅沢をしていた（と今になって更に実感する!!）日本での生活とはぜ～んぜん違う"しがない学生生活"だけど(笑)人生の中でこれもまた善し♪こうやって好きにやってる、やれる機会があることがありがたい。。。
なので、やっぱりワタシの留学生活はすでに半分以上成功と思っています♪

soothing and uplifting

Honestly, I've been having busy days recently.  We got 2 new people at work, so I gotta train them.  I also take care of my VISA things in my free time...  Well, I just do what I gotta do hoping everything's gonna be alright :-)

So... did I go out lately?    Nah....          
I'd rather go straight back home and relax by myself after work! lol  J.S.Bach is so soothing to me♪
Just play his music and lay in my bed... that's the most beautiful time of a day :-)  If I think back of my childhood, he was the last favorite one among pictures of historical composers in the music classroom.  I thought he was the least handsome guy. lol  But I'm into his music now :-)

When I head for work or when I drive, T-PAIN is on very often.  It's good for uplifting mood :-)
I got these 2 albums when I went to a shopping mall to get a official picture for my VISA application.  I had to wait until they develop and edit the data of my pic, so I went to a store and bought them.  Since then, I've been listening to them very often... almost every day.  I'm sure I will remember my "crazy busy days with visa issue and struggling + training at work" if I listen to Bach and T-PAIN in the future! ...then I'll be thinking like... "tough but a good experience"... I guess ;-)

忙しいってのがホンネ。仕事での指導や、プライベートではまずビザのことなど。まぁ、大丈夫と思いながらやることやっていこ。
最近遊びにいったっけ？...行ってないなぁー。今は速やかに直帰の気分。我が家では癒しのバッハが待っている♪バッハをかけて横になって、、、これが最近の至福のひと時。子供の頃に音楽室に掛けてあった音楽家の絵の中で、一番好きじゃなかったバッハ。なんかさ、太ったおじさんでカッコよくなかったから(笑)でも今は一番のお気に入りよ！
仕事へ向かうときや車で出かけるときは、もっぱらT-PAIN。いまの元気気分の定番になってる。
この２枚、ビザ用の写真を用意しに行ったモールで買った。写真のデータ作成に待ち時間があったからその間に:-)　それ以来すっかり毎日のオハコ。また将来、バッハとT-PAIN聴くときには今のビザと仕事に格闘する日々を思いだすんだわ、きっと！...で、「大変だったけどやって良かったな♪」なんて、思っているんだよ :-)

最近 2PAC

When it comes to music, I'm so omnivorous.  I definitely have tastes but I try various types.
I don't remember when I became like this because I used to be a rock kid who only listened to heavy/loud/hard rock music.  I didn't like other kinds then.
But now, I like R&B, Jazz, Ambient, Pop, Alternative Rock,,, Classical music, Gospel, too...  Well, maybe I became more well-rounded, lol
What I've been listening to recently is "2PAC"  Welcome back to my music golden age 90s! :-)
This is funny but... I didn't like Hip Hop when I was a teenager in 90s, so I never listened to 2PAC or some other stuff like him.  But his music reminds me of the days back in 90s... like when I was really into music and enjoying going out with friends.  I don't remember but I guess I was listening to this kinda 90s music at bars or something.
Well,,, I'm just an asian living in Japan since I was born, I don't understand 100% of his words because his culture and life is so different from mine.  So I just enjoy the sound and music... then words sometimes.  But I like it :-)   I just like listening to it. 

音楽は雑食。ちゃんと好き嫌いあるけど、色々試食する。いつからこうなったのか、、、それはもうとにかくやかましいロックが好きでそればっかり聴いてた子だったから。でも今はジャズやらクラシック、ゴスペルまで色々好き。人間まるくなったのかも（笑）
ここ最近のお気に入りはなんと「2PAC」　さぁ我が青春の90年代へおかえりなさい♪　おかしな話だけど、、、90年代私が10代の頃ヒップホップなんて好きじゃなくて、2PACとか絶対聴かなかった。なのに今聴いてるとなーんか懐かしく、昔を思い出すのよ、音楽が好きで遊び歩いていた頃のこと。たぶんお店とか色んなところで聴いてたんでしょう。
私、日本育ちのアジアン、この人たちと生い立ちも文化も環境も違うから歌詞を完全に理解なんてできない。だから音と音楽を楽しんで・・・で、たまに歌詞も・・・な程度。でも好き♪単純に聴いてていいかんじだから、好きです。

真夜中、NIN、何をする人ぞ

Recently, I watched a movie called "the girl with the dragon tattoo"  I enjoyed it a lot♪  I was so absorbed in the story for 2 and a half hours.  I also liked the music very much♪  Well, of course I did because one of the musicians I like, Trent Reznor worked on it.  The mixture of "Immingrant Song" and the picuture at the beginning of the movie was so cool♪  Check it out :-)
こないだ映画を観ました。「ドラゴンタトゥーの女」　　おもしろかったぁ♪　あっという間の２時間半。しっかり集中して楽しみました♪　ストーリーもだけど、ビジュアルがかっこよかった。そして、音楽も♪
ナイン・インチ・ネイルズのトレント・レズナーがやってんだもん、カッコいいさぁ～！
オープニングの「移民の歌」と映像には、しびれた♪　ご検討中の方、行ってみてください :-)

It reminds me of my youth in the 90s... when I was dreaming of anything. lol

いいね、いいね・・・と、夜中にナイン・インチ・ネイルズ聴きながら何してるかっていうと・・・

Strange, huh?... Whitening my teeth at home. lol

From next neek, I'm having my wisdom teeth extracted, so I've been taking extra care of my teeth.

Because it takes about 2 hours, I'm staying up late enjoying music, blogging, whatever,,,

I just hope my operation and treatment will be done smoothly...

来週から、これまで大事に大事にしてきた親不知を抜くから、その前にケア中。

２時間程かかるので、音楽を楽しみながらブログしながら夜更かししてます。

POP☆POP ストレスが私を走らせる！

My current uplifting music for my exercise time :-)

LADY GAGA and NATALIA KILLS   Too pop for me? lol

I started running a few days ago.  I usually try to go about 4km but I did 6km :-) because I had more time today.  Yes, it's my day off today♪

Because I hurt my knee before, I pay more attention to it and go slowly.  Sometimes I switch to walking when my knee feels funny.  So... it's more like slow jogging right now.  I try to keep doing this and I hope I will be able to run like I used to :-)

During summer time, I often went out before my holidays.  But I didn't last night. lol

I had been dealing with some... tough stuff at work for about a week.  Finally, it's getting settled ;-)  And yesterdays, I could finish the most stressful (haha!) paperwork which always takes so long!

So... I decided to go straight home last night :-) then I took a nice long bath and went to bed early... looking forward to jogging early in the morning♪

Now I feel really good!  My body's sore, haha! but I'm so relieved ;-)  I'll have a good day off today!

What's Goin' On

Good morning♪  It seems that today's gonna be another hot muggy Japanese summer day!

I'm starting my day listening to "4 Non Blondes" here :-)  Hmm... nice♪

I got a plan to join a beer garden party this weekend♪  YEAH!

But,,, before that, I'm supposed to have a few busy days at work.

We are already getting ready for the big Christmas sales time!  It's still July, but it's time for us to focus on the end of this year...

I'm kinda used to this because it happens every year ;-)

But this year,,, things are very special for me. 

What I'm doing right now is for next year, my college time in the states.

I think I'm having the busiest summer time in my life and I've been trying to do what I wanna do by myself more than ever :-)

It's fun♪  I feel "I'm living my own life!"   haha!

Well, it's time to roll♪

On a over 30degree summer day, thinking about Christmas sales and struggling to reach the sales target...

I'll work hard looking forward to the beer garden party♪

親愛なるポール君

My dear Les Paul... ♪

I am with him for more than 10 years.

Because I was watching videos of my very favorite female band "L7" this morning, I remembered my rock chick time.  And it made me feel like playing the guitar.

Well, I almost forgot how...lol 

But the more I tried, the better I could sound.

I think anybody can paly anything like guitar, piano, drums,,, or even singing too, if you really want to and try.

I feel I'm very lucky because I got a chance to have a guitar and got interested in playing it.

Whether I'm talented or not, I can enjoy music more than just listening to it. :-)

Being a cool, wild and gorgeous rock oba-chan is one of my dreams♪　haha!!!

朝だけどbedtime musicのことを…

Hey, I'm blogging 5 in the morning! lol  Good morning :-)
I'm not drunk... lol   Just because I woke up early today.
Today is going to be another 8to9 long day.  I hit my bed early last night.  Actually, I was going to post something from my bed... well, I was just too lazy to sit in front of my computer, haha.  So I took a picture with my cellphone camera and was trying write... then fell asleep soon☆
I was listening to my favorite Dead Can Dance then.  Even a rock chick feels like listening to this kind of soothing stuff sometimes :-)  This album is called "wake" but very relaxing Dead Can Dance sound let me have sweet dreams easily last night♪
I found their music when I first went to the US 14years ago.  When I was walking around in Old Market, the art and shopping district in Omaha, I found an interesting shop.  It was like a gift shop with a variety of stuff, like postcards, candle, decorations for your room...  What attracted me was the psychic,,, spiritual atmosphere...  I don't know how I should describe, but I remember the shop was like that.
Well,,, I can't see any ghost, I enjoy fortune-telling but I don't believe it.  lol   Just the atmosphere, the incense and the music in there was... nice to me :-)

Alright, no more relaxing music for now :-) because it makes me go back to sleep again!

MUSIC アラニスの思い出

Again, I'm enjoying a reminiscing time with my favorite music♪  lol   Alanis!  '90s is my generation!

The first time I met her music was in 1996.  I was in Auckland NZ which is the very first foreign place in my life, staying with a family for a week during my high school spring vacation time.  When my host family took me out to the city, I listened to her song "You Oughta Know" on a car radio.  I was not paying much attention to radio sound because everything outside the window was much more attractive to the 17-year-old  Japanese girl.  But her song was so impressive that I stopped looking outside and asked my host parents who the singer was... because I missed her name.  They said the song was kind of familiar but they didn't know who was singing.  So... her song ended up as one of sweet memories of my first trip then.

One year later, I entered a college... one that I quit in a year...  I was watching TV around midnight.  I guess it was a program of American alternative music... or something like that.  It was just having a laid-back time before she came up to the TV screen.  Yes,,, I met her music again and I finally found her name, Alanis Morissette.  :-)  I never forgot the part of her song I listened to in Auckland so I noticed right away!  I got up and tried to remember her name! lol   Her last name was tough to memorize...
I was very happy, of course :-)  I went to Tower Records very soon and finally got her music♪ 
Alanis morissette everyday, every night, everywhere with me! lol
I joined a summer program of the college in the same year,  my first USA days... in Omaha, Nebraska.  I was there for a month going to a school, staying with a family... had a very good time.  I was also listening to Alanis there♪
18-year-old was feeling very happy with the great experience in the US and determined to come back again some day in the future! ...and was very hopeful too.

Rock, pop, jazz, classical, whatever... I guess everybody has same kind of experience like me, "music reminds me of..." stuff  :-)      I like this♪　I think I'm very reflective and like reminiscing!

Now, we can find and obtain music easily, for example, download on the internet.  That's very good.  If you are 70s, 80s, 90s generation... you should understand how hard it was to find and get what you wanted, especially music from overseas or indies.  All we had was limited information on magazines, TV and radio... pirated copy from somewhere, maybe!  But we all made the best of it.  The harder we search, the happier we feel with it.  And we cherish the music more with memories of the days♪

I haven't writen for a while because many... "brand-new" things are going on at work...lol,  I mean I've been extra busy lately!  But it's ok, I'm still learning something from it.  There are many things I shouldn't leave behind.  Got a good chance to learn how to take care of ... unexpected stuff!
I'm still wondering where to go for my college plan, but I'm doing ok.  It'll be alright :-)  I'll keep working on it♪

The weather is getting better, I can see the blue sky befind the clouds now.  I'm thinking about shopping for my coworker's birthday♪  I don't know what I'm gonna get but I hope I'll find something good for her.

そうか、ちょうど５年前

Every time I see this CD, I remember my days at ex-job... :-)
One of my friends really really ...really loves this man, Ben Harper.  He came to Hiroshima on his tour in 2006 and of course, my friend went to his live concert then.
I din't know much about him but I got interested in his music because of her.
In May 2006, I was having a hard time to leave the last company,,, now I can say it was not that hard! lol but it definitely was because I was less experienced than now and  struggling everydays.
I was listening to this CD very often because one of the songs "Better Way" was very impressive then.
Better Way... yeah, I was looking for a better way for me :-)  The psychedelic sound was really comfy too♪

I am listening to his music this morning... well, I'm not in a situation like 5 yeas ago. lol   ... not yet... haha!
But I always look for my better way,,, appreciating what I have right now :-)

そう、ただROCKなの

Good morning rockin' people!  :-)
Bit chilly but beautiful morning here!

Are you familiar with IT, computer, machine stuff?
Me,,, basically NO!  lol
But I do some easy simple things on my computer
like iTunes♪
I like listening to iTunes radio while I'm sitting here.
It has a lot of stations! 
Where I tune in to is
"camorock"
80's meatal, hair, glam, sleaze, Nu-Metal, it says.

Sounds like old school, huh? lol   I like this station :)
I'm listening to songs that I used to listen to back in my junior high days...
Music for me was ROCK from foreign countries.

Rock music is good! :)  It made me interested in English.
I started learning English because I wanted to understand English music.
I was just.... so attracted by rock people!  A teenage rock kid wanted to be like them.  haha!
Now, I'm still practising my English... rock is a good influence on me♪

A PIECE

In the morning on my day off, I've been music hunting for a while.

I just listened to "Forget You" - Cee Lo Green - on TV and it made me feel like getting something...
something uplifting soul music.

I was looking around and hit a female singer Miss Platnum

Well,,, I don't know what kind of music it is.  For me, it's a mixture of soul, funk and gypsy music.
I like it! :)

"Music + English"  This is a big part of my life, connection with the world♪
I know it's just a little tiny one but I like when I feel I'm a piece of this wrold. :)

はじめてのHIP HOP

I, ROCKIN' WASABI, like Rock Music bacically.

When I was much younger, like junior high and high school time,
I always listened to Rock!
The sound had to be hard, heavy and loud to attract me♪

But a few years later, the rock chick had grown up.
I started to try other kinds of music in my late teens.

And it was only a few years ago,,,
I bought my very first HIP HOP music.
Busta Rhymes "The Big Bang" (2006)

Honestly, I don't even remember why I chose this...
Maybe I was interested in this album by watching on TV or checking at a store... I guess.
But I still like this album very much♪

Now I like much more types of music than before and enjoy it more.
MUSIC is what I need in my life♪

Well,,, I gotta do some work on my computer now.
I'll do it listening to Busta Rhymes tonight.

P!nk... stimulus

I love P!nk.

I like her music, her voice, her performance, her style and her attitude too.

I can enjoy many types of music now.
But I only listened to Rock music when I was younger,
so I can say I'm picky about Rock.
... I'm rockin' wasabi, so...

Her music often encourages me a lot when I'm about to get unconfident.
It also reminds me of being myself.

I really want to go to her show and get soaked with her live music!
She's the stimulus to me.
